Giuliani, who was speaking at a gathering of MKO terrorists in Washington DC, said he based his comments on the known positions on Iran of Trump, Bolton and Pompeo, not on any special information gleaned from within the White House about the administration’s plans.
He then pantomimed spitting on a piece of paper meant to represent the 2015 nuclear accord, drawing raucous cheers from members of this U.S.-friendly and U.S.-backed terrorist organization.
Giuliani was hired in April to be Trump’s lawyer in the matter of the special counsel probe into the 2016 election and possible collusion with Russia by members of Trump’s campaign.
Trump, a long-time critic of the JCPOA, faces a May 12 deadline to decide whether to pull out of the agreement. Trump has repeatedly warned that he might ultimately terminate the agreement reached under his predecessor Barack Obama.
Trump's threats against the JCPOA come as other parties to the agreement have all criticized the US president's hostile views, saying the deal is sound, effective and benefits everyone.
