The Deputy Minister for Legal and International Affairs of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Iran has always pursued expanding cooperation with other countries in the fight against terrorism, as combating terrorism requires collective cooperation.

Iran Press/Iran News:  According to Kazem Gharibabadi, the number of terrorism victims in Iran was previously reported as 17,000. However, after further investigations, this number was updated to 23,000, which is among the highest in the world.

In a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of Martyr Qasem Soleimani and the first anniversary of the terrorist attack in Kerman, Gharibabadi stated: "Iran is not only a victim of terrorism, but it is also a leading force in the global and regional fight against this phenomenon."

He added, "Western countries' support for terrorism has caused serious crises in the region. These countries view terrorism as a threat only to their own interests and those of their allies. They provide shelter to terrorists and adopt a double standard regarding terrorism; how can one witness the suffering of the people of Gaza and remain silent?"

Gharibabadi continued, "Iran considers combating terrorism and protecting its citizens as an inherent duty. We have prioritized utilizing our resources to ensure justice and effective action against terrorism. We are determined to hold the perpetrators of the terrorism against our citizens accountable and honor the patience of the victims' families. Iran will not allow terrorists to operate freely in the safe havens of Western countries. We strive to prevent impunity for terrorism and welcome regional and international cooperation."

He also emphasized, "It is shameful that these countries not only remain silent in the face of the crimes of the Israeli regime, but also actively support it. The people of the world know that these countries accept terrorists in their parliaments and encourage them."

Referring to the time when the Middle East was on the brink of falling into the abyss of ISIS' takfiri terrorism, he said, "Martyr Soleimani initiated the fight against terrorism without any factional divisions. His efforts in this battle will never be forgotten."
