Iran Press/ West Asia: The media office of the Gaza government issued a statement and emphasized: "The Israeli army destroyed 140 mosques completely and 240 mosques partially during its brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip. In addition, 3 churches were also targeted in these attacks."
In the continuation of this statement, it is stated: "Most of the mosques were destroyed using bombs and rockets, the weight of some of the explosives was 2 thousand pounds, and this issue led to the destruction of these holy places, which indicates the hatred and criminality of the invaders. Israelis are against mosques and churches."
This statement adds: "The occupying army has destroyed mosques and churches with historical value and in this way has made a failed attempt to destroy Palestinian cultural and historical works and destroy Palestinian historical evidence in the Gaza Strip."
According to this statement, the destroyed historical mosques and churches belong to the era of Phoenicians and Romans, and some of them date back to 800 years BC, while others are 400 and 1400 years old.
In this statement, it is emphasized that the crime of bombardment and destroying mosques was carried out to silence the call to prayer and also the tolls of church bells from different areas of the Gaza Strip, and this indicates the bankruptcy, fear and incapacity of the occupying criminal army.
The media office of the Gaza government announced: "These crimes against mosques and churches are considered a clear crime based on international agreements, especially international humanitarian law and the 1954 Hague Agreement on the Protection of Religious Places in the Situation of Armed Conflict and the second protocol of this agreement in 1999.
In its latest report, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Thursday that the number of martyrs of the Zionist regime's attacks on various areas of the Gaza Strip has increased to 23,469. 219
