The Israeli military has reported that 61 Palestinians were killed in attacks on the Gaza Strip, bringing the total death toll to 40,939 since October 7, 2023, according to the Health Ministry in the enclave on Saturday.

Iran Press/West Asia: The ministry also reported that approximately 94,616 people have been injured in the ongoing assault.

“Israeli forces killed 61 people and injured 162 others in four ‘massacres’ against families in the last 48 hours,” the statement said.

“Many people are still trapped under rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

Israel waged the war on Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

The regime has also imposed a "complete siege" on the Gaza Strip, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to 2.3 million Palestinians living there.

About 90 percent of Gaza's population has been displaced within the territory, where UN agencies say there is no safe place.
