Iran Press/ Iran news: The embroidery industry has been going on in Shandiz for about 600 years and in the past, clothes, hats, bags, and shoes were traditionally made from it and designs and flowers with silk thread were stitched on them.
Fur production flourished during World War II, and the Russians and Germans wore coats and hats; so that Shandiz sewed hats are known as Russian hats.
Today, however, fur is industrially and modernly prepared and then sewn in workshops. Its sewing variety has increased to vests, undergarments, gloves, hats, and shoes. The art of fur embroidering has been registered in the list of the spiritual heritage of Iran.
Fur handicrafts are now exported to Iraq, Oman, UAE, Russia, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan.
