Iran Press/Iran news: Hamid Nouri, an Iranian national taken hostage by the Swedish government, was released on Saturday, June 15, 2024, after suffering 1,680 days of imprisonment.
Nasser Kanaani considered the release of the Iranian citizen from the illegal decision of the Swedish court a result of continuous political, legal, and consular efforts of the Islamic Republic's diplomatic system, the judiciary, and other relevant authorities of the country.
Kanaani appreciated the late President Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian for their continuous endeavors to release the Iranian national.
He noted: "The release of Hamid Nouri who was caught by the conspiracy of the Zionist regime and the MKO terrorist group, is another manifestation of the diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran's authority in realizing and securing national interests and also firmly supporting the rights of Iranians."
The Iranian MFA spokesman also appreciated Oman for facilitating the process of the liberation of the Iranian national and stressed that Iran's MFA would continue pursuing the release of other Iranian nationals based on its inherent duty. 215, 204
