Brigadier General Goudarzi added: "Border police also managed to seize three cars carrying narcotics, three motorcycles, more than 2 tons and 416 kilograms of narcotic drugs.

The commander of Iran's police force, saying that two smugglers were also arrested, announced the discovery of several wireless devices, weapons, and ammunition from the smugglers and said: "The fight against the sinister phenomenon of drug trafficking continues seriously."

Despite the sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran has the world's highest number of drug seizures seizing more than one thousand tons of narcotics per year.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has also offered more than 12,000 veterans and martyrs in the fight against drug trafficking.
