The Special Court of Pakistan sentenced the country's ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan and his party deputy Shah Mahmoud Qureshi to 10 years in prison each after finding them guilty in the cypher case.

Iran PressAsia: The judge of the Special Act Court, Abul Hassnat Mohammed Zulqarnain, announced the verdict in a prison of Rawalpindi where the special court was established.

During the proceeding, the Judge asked Imran Khan, " Mr. Khan, I have a simple question for you, where is the cypher"?  

"I have said in the same statement that I don't know, the cypher was in my office", replied the PTI founder.

Meanwhile, the verdict was pronounced before Shah Mahmoud Qureshi's statement was recorded.

After pronouncing the verdict, the Judge left the court.

Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan from the summer of 2018 to April 2022, has been in prison since this summer due to financial, political and security corruption accusations.

The senior member of the Justice Movement Party of Pakistan Ali Zafar who is the leader of Imran Khan's legal team announced the verdict one-sided and said that he would challenge it as soon as possible in the Supreme Court of the country. 219
