Iran Press/America: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian was in New York to attend a United Nations Security Council meeting investigating the situation in the Middle East and Palestine.
Iran’s legitimate right
Speaking at the UN Security Council, Iran’s top diplomat once again emphasized Iran’s legitimate right to defend its territory after Israel attacked Iran’s consulate in Damascus. Iran’s Amirabdollahian once again warned that in case of repeated behaviors, Iran’s response will be faster and stronger; although the Islamic Republic of Iran never begins the war. Iran always seeks to establish peace and security in the region and plays an effective role in fighting terrorism.
No one benefits from war
Meeting with Antonio Gutteres, Iran’s Amirabdollahian asked for an initiative by the UN to end the crisis in the region. However, the initiative must include all aspects such as exchanging prisoners, withdrawing military forces, and sending humanitarian aid to Gaza stripe.FM referred to the dangers of expanding war and asked the UN to play its effective role and end the crisis in Gaza.
Efforts to lift sanctions
Meeting with counterparts and other officials was also on the agenda of this trip to focus on “diplomatic talks” to lift imposed sanctions on Iran.
