Iran Press/ Iran news: Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated that 13 people, including 7 Iranian military advisors and 6 Syrian citizens, were martyred in the terrorist attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria, adding: "Military advisers of the Islamic Republic of Iran are active in Syria with diplomatic passports at the invitation of the Syrian government to fight terrorism."
The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran expects the United Nations Security Council as a peace and security body to issue a resolution condemning the Zionist regime's attack on Iran's diplomatic facilities and adding: "The Israeli regime should be punished within the framework of international law."
The Foreign Minister of Malta, Ian Borg, whose country is currently the temporary head of the Security Council, while condemning the terrorist attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, considered this attack to be a violation of international and humanitarian laws.
The Foreign Minister of Malta also emphasized the importance of Iran's active presence in the April 18 meeting of the United Nations Security Council to try to establish a ceasefire in Gaza.
Syrian state media reported on Monday about the air attack of the Israeli army from the occupied Golan region on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus.
