Abbass Araghchi told reporters on the sidelines of Wednesday's cabinet sessions that with respect to the US, the criterion for Iran is the action the American authority takes not what they say.
The remarks made by Araghchi came in response to a question about whether the US new president's claim about the de-escalation in the region is real or not.
He said: "The American government has repeatedly announced that it is looking for a ceasefire in Gaza, but the result has not been achieved, which may be the result due to their inability to do so or their hypocrisy."
The US provides arms and other military equipment for the Israeli regime.
The State Department said on Tuesday that it did not plan to decrease weapons aid to Israel, as a 30-day deadline set by the Biden administration passed without the country substantially improving the humanitarian situation in war-devastated Gaza.
