By accepting the request of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the head of the FATF Financial Action Task Force announced that he has announced the amendments and changes in the standards related to UN Security Council Resolution 2231 to all member countries and his global anti-money laundering network.

Iran PressEurope:  Following the dispatch of a protest letter by Iran Minister of Economic and Finance, Seed Ehsan Khandozi, to the head of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the pursuit of the Financial Intelligence Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran to remove the name of Iran from recommendation number seven, finally, the head of the Special Financial Action Task Force sent a letter accepting the request of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The official stated that he has announced the amendments and changes in his standards related to the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231 to all the member countries and his global anti-money laundering network.

This issue expresses the demands of the people's government and the Council of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, which is oriented to realize the rights of the Iranian nation.

Earlier, Iran's Minister of Economic and Finance Affairs, in a letter of protest to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), demanded that the name of the Islamic Republic of Iran be removed from recommendation number seven, the standards of this institution, and other related documents to resolution 2231 of the United Nations Security Council.

The seven recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) regarding targeted sanctions related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction require countries to implement stated measures such as confiscation of funds and assets of designated persons in line with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

Resolution 2231 of the United Nations Security Council has replaced all previous resolutions of this council regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear program and it has also lifted the JCPOA sanctions related to the sale of weapons to Iran.
