Iran Press/ Iran news: Regarding the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, I must explain that Iran, as a member of the U.N., became a member of the commission in a transparent and legal election with the highest number of votes from ECOSOC countries, Naser Kanaani said on Monday's weekly press conference.
Iran's foreign ministry spokesman noted, "The United States and some European countries are trying to block Iran's membership in the commission in an entirely politically motivated and illegal action by putting pressure on Islamic countries.
The move is against the vote of countries in international organizations. In other words, it is a way of questioning the independent countries in the U.N."
"The member countries have freely voted for the membership of the Islamic Republic. Suppose the Westerners succeed in expelling Iran from the commission by applying pressure and using political tools. In that case, they will practically be the founders of this heresy," an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman added.
Kanaani said that countries are members of the Security Council and the United Nations Human Rights Council, which committed countless crimes against governments and nations throughout history and are now using human rights tactics against independent countries.
"If the United States and some European countries succeed in expelling Iran from the Commission on the Status of Women, it will harm the efficiency of an international mechanism, and Iran will use its capacities to counter this illegal approach," Nasser Kanaani highlighted.
Nations of the region believe ties with Israel a treason
Iran says the stance of the regional nations, including Bahrain, on normalizing relations with the Israeli regime is clear; it is treason.

Iraq decided to deploy forces in the Kurdistan region
The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Iraq is determined to deploy its army forces in the joint border areas between Iran and Iraq's Kurdistan region.
