In a week marked by fervent activities to advocate for Palestinian freedom, academics and professionals across the UK have mobilized in diverse ways, including protests and demonstrations.

Iran Press/Europe:  According to an Iran Press report from London, a group of academics held an innovative gathering at a prominent university hub in the British capital. During this event, participants not only reaffirmed their commitment to the Palestinian cause but also discussed effective strategies to resist the Israeli regime and its supporters.

They have expressed unwavering support for the oppressed Palestinian people and condemned opposition to Palestinian rights in workplaces and educational institutions.

Speakers at the event emphasized solidarity with the Palestinian people, pointing to the UK’s role in supplying key military equipment to Israel, such as parts for F-35 bombers, and providing logistical support via its airbase in Cyprus. They called for an immediate halt to these activities.

The gathering, which included students and staff from multiple universities, also served as a platform to protest against the genocide of Palestinians and to criticize deceptive narratives surrounding freedom of expression.

Speakers highlighted the challenges faced by many academics advocating for severing ties between UK and Israeli universities, ending arms exports to Israel, and imposing sanctions on the regime. They revealed that such individuals are often subjected to severe repercussions, including restrictions on their education and employment opportunities.

UK academics, who have notably intensified their pro-Palestinian activism over the past 14 months, pledged to continue their advocacy and awareness efforts until the realization of Palestinian aspirations. They declared their steadfast commitment to this cause, vowing not to relent in their struggle.

This week of action has underscored growing momentum in the UK for supporting Palestinian rights, with voices from academia leading the charge in raising awareness and calling for accountability.
