Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov

Russia's Foreign Minister has said that countering terrorism and paving the grounds for the Syrian refugees to return home is one of Moscow's priorities.

Iran PressEurope: Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday that the international community must take responsibility for the situation in Syria and assist in the process of solving human problems in Syria.

Lavrov made the remarks while the European Union imposed new sanctions on eight businessmen and two entities of Syria on Monday.

Brussels has so far frozen the assets of 71 Syrian entities and 277 citizens.

The European Union's sanctions against Syria come at a time of widespread defeat by terrorists in Idlib and Aleppo and the rapid advance of the Syrian army in those areas.

On the occasion of the liberation of Aleppo from the occupation of terrorists, the Syrian President Bashar Assad reiterated that victory does not mean surrendering enemies and destroying conspiracies against Syria.
