Tehran (IP) - The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for focusing provocatively on Iran's obligations while ignoring the other party's failures, and stressed the need for the IAEA to maintain neutrality and professionalism.

Iran Press/Iran news: On Wednesday, Mohammad Eslami, addressing reporters on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting, responded to the recent remarks by Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA. Eslami stressed that the IAEA must uphold its impartiality and exhibit professional conduct.

Eslami noted that it is time for the semi-annual review of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231. He highlighted that this resolution comprises two main elements: Iran's acceptance of certain limitations to build trust, in exchange for the lifting of sanctions and the fulfillment of commitments by the other parties.

Eslami added that it is unacceptable for an international body to focus provocatively on just one aspect of the situation, while neglecting the main issue of non-compliance by the other parties involved.

He concluded by saying, "We expect the Director General of the IAEA, who is an experienced diplomat, to adhere to these considerations."

In a recent interview with the Italian news agency ANSA, Grossi said that Iran is enriching uranium close to military-grade levels and is rapidly moving towards becoming a nuclear-armed state. He added that the JCPOA is no longer relevant and that a new agreement is needed to address the realities of Iran's nuclear program.
