Turkish presidential candidate Muharrem Ince, the main challenger to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Turkey's June 24 presidential election, held a campaign rally in Istanbul on the eve of the election, in front of thousands of supporters.

The candidate for the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Muharrem Ince has in the space of weeks risen from being a fiery parliamentarian to a presidential contender who has energized the Turkish opposition and poses a serious challenge to President Erdogan.

Turkey's presidential and parliamentary elections, to be held this  Sunday 24 June 2018 , are probably the  most  crucial elections the country has  ever had.

Some 56 million Turkish people are reportedly going to vote  both for presidential  as well as parliamentary elections  simultaneously .

However the findings of the recent polls suggest that the snap elections might end up with the runoff. It also suggests that the ruling party is going to lose majority in the Turkish parliament.
