Iran Press/ Middle East: The spokesman of Yemeni Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Saree said on Tuesday at a press conference in the capital Sana’a said that the video footage recorded by Yemeni forces on the second phase of the major operation of ‘Victory from God Almighty’ or 'Nasr men Allah', in Najran, southern Saudi Arabia, proves that the Yemeni forces have taken full control over the Saudi military sites and seizure of considerable amounts of munitions. The offensive also resulted in the death and injury of at least 200 Saudi-led coalition soldiers.
He added that the second phase of the operation was launched on September 3, noting, "More than 150 square kilometers were cleared of Saudi mercenaries, including Yemeni militiamen loyal to Yemen's former pro-Saudi president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi. Also, more than 120 armored vehicles were destroyed and captured in the process.
Brigadier General Saree said that Yemeni missile defense units carried out six operations in the series military attack, most notably against Najran Regional Airport, while domestically-manufactured Yemeni combat drones struck positions inside Najran 16 different times.
The spokesman pointed out that the Yemeni air defense units were also able to repel 40 attacks by Saudi Apache helicopters and that Saudi warplanes launched more than 600 raids in retaliation.
The Yemeni military official went on to say that Yemeni soldiers and their allies have managed to take control over al-Fara'a and al-Sooh areas and reach the highlands overlooking the city of Najran, located 844 kilometers (524 miles) south of the Saudi capital Riyadh.
Saree stressed the Yemeni forces also captured a large group of Saudi forces, without mentioning the exact number.
He also said that they had obtained documents proving that militants from al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorist groups were fighting alongside the Saudi-led coalition.
“Our military operations will not stop until the (Saudi-led) aggression stops. Our armed forces will continue to implement various stages of ‘Victory from God Almighty’ operation till then. Our noble army has weapons for deterrence, and is capable of repelling attacks,” Saree continued.
