Russian jets attacked terrorists' position in the Syrian province of Idlib.

IranPress/Middle East- Russia airstrike targeted terrorist's positions in Idlib's south-west, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Syrian forces, backed by Russia are poised to attack Idlib which is the last major terrorists' stronghold in Syria.

Moscow has repeatedly warned that the area is the last stronghold for the terrorists.

"We have killed, we are killing and we will kill terrorists...whether that be in Aleppo, Idlib or other parts of Syria. Peace must return to Syria," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said During the United Nations 2018 International Media Seminar on Peace in the Middle East.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in Aug. 29 that the United States’ scenario for Syria to change the political system in the country has failed.

The Syrian Arab Army has recently advanced into areas surrounding Idlib Governorate, in preparation for a final offensive on militant-held positions.

More than 330,000 people have been killed in Syria and millions have been driven from their homes since the conflict began in March 2011, and the infrastructure of the country destroyed.

In April 2017, thousands of Kefraya and al-Foua residents were bussed out to government-held areas in a swap that granted, in exchange, safe passage to hundreds of people living in two militant-held towns near Damascus, Madaya and Zabadani.

About 1.2 million Syrian refugees have returned to their homes since September 2015.
