Iran Press/ Iran News: In this regard, 150,000 masks are produced daily by the volunteer groups of "Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani" in collaboration with the Prophet Mohammad Charity in Birjand and under the supervision of Birjand University of Medical Sciences.
70,000 of these masks will be bought by the Birjand University of Medical Sciences' Food and Drug Administration and the rest will be distributed to volunteer groups for free distribution.
With the spread of coronavirus in Iran, national mobilization has been formed in collaboration with people, volunteer groups and charities to produce masks and disinfectants to defeat the borderless and deadly virus.
According to the latest statistics, 4590 patients from a total of 13938 cases have recovered from COVID-19 disease, caused by the novel coronavirus, all across Iran.
The coronavirus outbreak began in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and appears to have been originated from non-domestic animals. Chinese officials now admit that the virus probably spread in Wuhan in November or even earlier.
The COVID-19 viral disease that has swept into at least 157 countries, infected around 169,673 and killed 6,518 people is now officially a pandemic, according to the World Health Organization announcement on Wednesday, March 11.
