28th Conference of the Coordination of Marine Organizations of Iran held in Tehran

Tehran (IP) - The 28th Conference of the Coordination of Marine Organizations of Iran was held on Monday afternoon in Tehran.

Iran Press/ Iran News: The 28th Conference of the Coordination of Marine Organizations of Iran was held on Monday afternoon with the attendance of Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami, Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) Head Mohammad Rastad, Marine Corps Commander, Director of Ports and Maritime Affairs, MPs and CEOs of the National Iranian Petroleum Corporation and the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Company at the National Library conference hall in Tehran.

 The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Naval Commander Alireza Tangsiri also delivered a speech at the event, saying: "We have access to high seas from southern parts of the country to the Indian Ocean, and from the north to the Caspian Sea, and more than 90 percent of our merchandise is transferred through sea, which emphasizes marine development."

At the conference, Road and Urban Development Minister Mohammad Eslami said: "If we are trying to strengthen our economy, we must develop our maritime section. Sanctions are creating an opportunity for us in this regard. The sanctions have boosted our talents."

The Conference of Maritime Organizations aimed at demonstrating the authority of the maritime community and establishing coordination among the stakeholders. The conference was also a great opportunity for members of the country's marine community to find the right solutions to their problems.
