Imam Khomeini disembarks from an Air France jet on returning home after more than 14 years in exile.

Tehran (IP) - A special ceremony on the occasion of the anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini's return to Iran will be held throughout the country along with the main ceremony at his Mausoleum in Tehran on Saturday, February 1.

Iran PressIran news: In Tehran's ceremony, the interim Friday Prayers Leader Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Javad Haj Ali Akbari is scheduled to deliver a speech.

Also, a ceremony will be held at Imam Khomeini's Mausoleum in Tehran's cemetery (Behesht-e Zahra) on the same day at 11:00 a.m. with a speech by the senior spokesman for Iran's Armed Forces Brigadier General Abulfazl Shekarchi.

The nationwide ceremonies will be held at 9:33 a.m. local time (0603 GMT), the time when the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini returned to the Iranian capital on February 1, 1979, after a 14-year exile.

Iranian people will also start the 10-Day Dawn celebrations to mark the 41st anniversary of the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, which overthrew the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in Iran.
