Iran will send sanctions to cemetery of history: Maj. Gen Salami
Tehran (IP) - The Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami has said the sanctions against the country will be lifted by the Iranian people, who will send the sanctions to the cemetery of history.
Iran Press/Iran news: During the 13th Conference of Officials and Managers of Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters, the top commander of Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami said, "Our revolution was designed to produce a model system, to turn Islam into a role model for all political, economic, cultural, social, defense and security matters so that all Muslim societies follow Islam."
He further noted, "The enemy is waging a fully-fledged war across many fronts. We have faced the full force of the enemy in this all-out war for the past 40 years. Islam is on the path of a rising power while the arrogant powers are steadily declining. For 40 years, the Islamic world has been at the center of direct and indirect invasions by evil powers," Iran Press reported.
According to Salami, today's economic war is one example of this all-out war. The enemy seeks to make Iran a poor country by blocking our access to advanced science and technology and undermining the country in the field of construction. But the Iranian people are artfully turning threats into opportunities. It is a great gift for us to have an enemy.
Major General Salami stated that "From within the blockade we have achieved remarkable advances in all areas, including energy, nanotechnology, biotechnology, aerospace science, cyberspace, and medicine. We have advanced, thanks to the embargoes and sanctions of the enemy."
He pointedly added: "We want to send the [US] sanctions to the cemetery of history. The sanctions will be lifted by the Iranian nation. Little by little, they will be sanctioned by us, and we will reverse the process. We will turn economic resistance into a resistive economy, and that is our art," he added.
