Iran\'s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Mousavi

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Mousavi said Tehran expects that its relations with Europe will expand even following departure of EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini from her office.

Iran Press/Europe: In a message posted on his Twitter account on Monday, Mousavi appreciated the rational and balanced stands taken by the former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in dealing with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The spokesman also congratulated her Spanish successor Josep Borrell and expressed the hope that Tehran's relations with the EU will improve along with the strengthening of multilateralism and rule of law in international relations.

Borrell took over from the Italian Mogherini on Sunday who was leading the EU's foreign policy since 2014.
