Iran Press/Iran news: Head of the Commission for Education and Research Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi referring to the fuel price hike said: "Why the government increases fuel prices when the news about the plots and the conspiracy spread out in the country?"
He urged the government to address public concerns and prevent further price hike regarding other commodities.
Zahedi also called for the government to increase the fuel rationing to 90 liters per car, if possible, to improve people's conditions.
Another parliamentarian from Rasht, Gholam Ali Jafarzadeh, criticized that the MPs and the elites have not been informed of the government's plan regarding fuel price hike, saying that the government did not explain the measure to modify the price to the people and not informed them which was one of the weaknesses of the plan. He stated that people are not deserved to be surprised in such away.
The MP made the remark that today's security and comfort are due to the martyrs and the Basij. The only reason for the parliament's silence against the rise of gas prices was the Leader's decree to accompany the decision made by the heads of three branches of the government.
Jafarzadeh highlighted that the sharp increase in gasoline prices, given the lack of increase in people's incomes, is another weakness of the plan and that the increase in fuel prices will undoubtedly lead to the price hike of other commodities.
Mohammad Baset Dorazehi, MP from Saravan and Soran, was among other speakers at the open session of the Parliament on Sunday.
He said the people's view and the elite's support was a prerequisite for a gasoline price hike. Social justice and citizenship rights are the basic needs of the people, which require urgent action.
The parliamentarian stated that people are the main supporters of the Islamic authority and this was evident in the recent upheavals.
At the end of today's session, written notifications were given to some ministers, including the Minister of Education, the Minister of Sport and Youth, and the Minister of Labor and Welfare.
