Following President Hassan Rouhani's order to Iran's Atomic Energy Agency (AEOI) to kick off the fourth step in scaling back Iran’s obligations under the JCPOA through feeding gas into Fordow facility, a letter was sent to International Atomic Energy Agency notifying the measure.

Iran Press/ Europe: Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the Vienna-based international organizations Kazem Gharibabadi, said on Tuesday. that Iran has handed over a letter to the IAEA announcing that on 6 of November it will start to inject gas into centrifuges at the nuclear facility in Fordow,

"After the statement and the decree of Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, a letter has been handed over to the IAEA on the start of gas injection at the Fordow facility [centrifuges]," Iran Press quotes him as saying.

The Iranian envoy added that Tehran had asked the IAEA to send its specialists to Fordow to visit the facility at a specified time.

ٍEarlier on the day, Iran's Ambassador to the UK, Hamid Baeidinejad stated that the fourth step of reducing Iran's commitments would be reversible if other sides abide by their commitments.

President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that Iran will go back to the past situation only if the other parties come to terms with the joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and lift the sanctions.

The Iranian President noted at an unveiling ceremony of a development project in Tehran, Iran can easily sell its oil, using its assets and observe the outcome of lifting the sanctions, the world should understand that the great Iranian nation has resorted to resistance to bring the other party to the negotiating table. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Azadi Innovation Factory, which supports startup and knowledge-based companies, President Hassan Rouhani commented on Iran's landmark nuclear deal with world powers, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and said he will shortly give the order for the fourth incremental step to further reduce Iran's commitment to JCPOA.

He pointedly added: "If other signatories to the nuclear deal don't abide by their commitments, they can't expect Iran to keep its commitments fully."

Since the first anniversary of the US withdrawal from JCPOA  on May 8, 2018, and after European parties failed to meet Iran's interests without the United States, Iran has gradually taken steps to reduce its commitments to JCPOA every two months.

Referring to paragraphs 26 and 36 of the agreement, Iran has begun to reduce its commitments and has taken three steps so far.

Tehran had warned that if the other parties do not take practical action to meet Iran's interests within the next few days, Iran's fourth step will be implemented. 205/219
