Tehran (IP) - The former ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Syria has described the intervention of some Western powers, especially the United States, France, and Britain in Lebanon's internal affairs, as one of the root causes of corruption in the country.

Iran Press/Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press news agency, Hossein Sheikholeslam, a veteran diplomat who is an advisor to Iran's foreign minister, praised Lebanese Hezbollah secretary-general Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah's stance on popular protests in Lebanon, saying that some foreign embassies and even Lebanese political parties with their biased positions have caused unrest and sometimes violent protests.

He warned that some foreign elements and forces are seeking to overthrow the legitimate Lebanese government. 205/219/211
