Zarif leaves Tehran for New York

Iran's foreign ministry spokesman has confirmed that foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zrif departed Tehran for New York on Saturday evening to attend an annual meeting of UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Iran Press/Iran news: The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said that after the New York meeting, Zarif is scheduled to go to Venezuela to take part in a meeting of Non-Aligned Movement foreign ministers.

Bilateral meetings with senior Venezuelan officials are also part of Foreign Minister Zarif's itinerary, Iran Press reported.

After Venezuela, Zarif will visit Nicaragua and Bolivia in South America, Mousavi added. 101/211/215
