The chairman of City Council of Tehran said on Monday that despite economic hurdles, the great nation of Iran agrees with the path of the Islamic revolution, as the massive presence of the Iranian people testifies to this fact.

Iran Press/Iran news: The chairman of City Council of Tehran, Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani in an exclusive interview with Iran Press stressed the fact that People's massive and meaningful presence in 11 February rallies in spite of existing economic hardships signifies that they are in alignment with the Islamic Revolutionary path, and these hurdles can not stop them from the righteous path.

Hashemi went on to say that this also has an important message for the high ranking Iranian officials to pay more attention to solve the problems of ordinary people, to redouble their efforts, so that they can provide them with security and welfare.

Asked to comment on the message of his late father, Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, for the Iranian nation and the world, Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani said: "My father followed the path of the revolution. If he was alive, he would certainly have taken part in today's rally and march and he would have emphasized upon welfare of the Iranian society while safeguarding the original Islamic revolutionary goals and values."

Mohsen Hashemei's comments came on the sidelines of the nationwide rallies on Monday morning, marking the 40th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution across the country. 101 / 211 /203
