Iranian army ground forces concluded the final stage of ‘Eghtedar 97’ drill by successful testing of long row remote-controlled blasts in the battlefield on Saturday.

Iran Press/Iran news: Second-Day of final stage of ‘Eghtedar 97’ (Power 97) military war games wrapped up in central Isfahan province by Iranian Army ground forces and attendance of Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, the top Commander of the Iranian Army.

On Saturday, the Iranian army ground forces combat engineering units successfully practiced a new engineered tactic to push back enemy forces from approaching the battlefield by creating a long row of blasts using remote-controlled land bombs, Tasnim News Agency reported.

According to informed military officials, army engineering units, designed prepared and planted the line of explosion and remote-controlled bombs in drill zone in advance of the last stage of the military exercises.

In one of the other operations on Saturday, two F-7 fighter-bombers hit the enemy’s armoured equipment with smart bombs.

In the war game, the Ground Force’s fixed and mobile artillery units hit the enemy’s positions with smart and precise shells in the range of 10 to 30 kilometers.

In another mission, Commanders from the Army Ground Force Special Forces, known as the 65th Brigade, parachuted into the zone to repel a Takfiri terrorist attack and capture the terrorist groups’ ring leaders.

The Iranian Army ground forces showcased domestically-produced military equipment in the annual large-scale 'Eghtedar 97' military drills.

According to the Deputy Iranian Army Ground Forces Commander, 2nd Brigadier General Amir Nozar Nemati, armored divisions practice destroying enemy's positions in this battle field.

Iranian Army helicopters, airborne unit’s drones and Air Force fighter jets in addition to carrying out simultaneous reconnaissance operations, supported armored divisions with heavy fire on enemy positions.

In the final phase of the military exercise, 12,000 assault forces from all units of the Army Ground Force participated.

Armoured Divisions, artillery units, rapid reaction forces, mechanized infantry, engineering units, combating units, telecommunications units, electronic warfare units, airborne forces and UAVs units practiced their offensive tactics during the two-day military exercises on Friday and Saturday.

Iran’s Armed Forces hold routine military exercises throughout the year.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations. 105/ 211 /205
