Iran, Ukraine discuss bilateral ties

Kiev (IP) - Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Construction Mohammad Eslami and special envoy of Iran's President Hassan Rouhani met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski in Kiev on Monday, official sources said.

Iran Press/Europe: Eslami submitted President Rouhani's message to his Ukrainian counterpart and called for bilateral cooperation to reduce the grief of bereaved families of victims of Ukrainian airliner which was mistakenly downed in Iran on January 8.

Zelensky said Iran has acted on its promise for the investigation to the cause of the plane crash, according to Ukrainian Presidential Office's website.

The visiting Iranian official also met with the minister of foreign affairs and the minister of infrastructure during which both sides negotiated on the expansion of Tehran-Kiev ties in the field of transportation.

Iran has promised cooperation in the investigation of the crash which claimed the lives of 167 passengers and 9 crew members.
