Lavrov: US withdrawal from JCPOA, unlawful

Russian Foreign Minister said Iran and Russia have common views on many regional and international issues.

Iran Press/Europe: Speaking at a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the US withdrawal from the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) is unilateral and unlawful and contrary to UN Security Council Resolution, stating that "we should all work to preserve JCPOA and prevent it from collapsing," Iran Press reported. 

He added, "We have common views on many regional and international issues and the peaceful initiatives of the two countries show this matter."

Bilateral relations and regional issues, including the situation in the Persian Gulf, Syria, and Afghanistan, were discussed during the meeting of Zarif and Lavrov.
