Most terrorism victims are Muslims

The executive director of the French Association of Victims of Terrorism, Guillaume Denoix de Saint Marc has said that Muslims are the main victims of terrorism.

Iran PressEurope: "80% of global terror attacks' victims are Muslims," Guillaume Denoix de Saint Marc said on Thursday in the 8th International Congress for the Victims of Terrorism in the French city of Nice, as reported by Elnashra News Agency.

"Muslims are the first to suffer from terrorist attacks. It is important to recall in Europe, because there, it is assumed that the terrorists are Muslims and the victims are non-Muslims. However, this is not true," he underlined.

About 10 percent of France's population is Muslim. Following the terrorist attacks in recent years, the French government has exerted pressure on Muslims under the pretext of combating such acts.

Increasing pressure on Muslims in France has been so high that the United Nations has previously expressed concern over how the government of the country is dealing with Muslims and urged the government to increase ties with the country's Muslim community.
