Iran-UK business meeting was held in London to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade ties.

Iran Press /Europe: Representatives of the British Ministry of International Trade, chambers of commerce of the two countries and British and Iranian trade companies as well as the Iranian ambassador to London, Hamid Baeidinejad participated in the meeting which was held in the Iran Embassy in London.

Speaking at the meeting dubbed ‘Iran-UK trade relations: opportunities and prospects’, Chairman of British-Iranian Chamber of Commerce Lord Norman Lamont referred to the effects of sanctions on banking ties with Iran as the main obstacle for establishing trade cooperation, saying despite the fact that the US has signed a document on exemption of humanitarian cooperation with Iran, but banks still avoid maintaining cooperation with Iran.

"The role of  Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in developing export growth, considered at this meeting,"  Iranian ambassador to London said in a tweet. 

Speaking on the sideline of this meeting, Hamid Baeidinejad said Iran and Britain have great potentials and capabilities for the development of ties and SMEs play a major role in improving trade ties.  101
