An Iranian Navy flotilla comprised of two guided-missile destroyers docked at Aktau port in Kazakhstan on Wednesday.

Iran Press/Asia: The Iranian flotilla dubbed peace and friendship is comprised of two guided-missile destroyers of Separ and Joshan. It was received officially by military and government officials of Kazakhstan.

According to IRNA, a ceremony to welcome the flottila was held in presence of Iran's Ambassador to Khazakhstan Majid Saber, the governor of Mangystau province, Iran's consul general in Aktau and Iranian military attaché in Kazakhstan.

A three-day stay at the Kazakh port of Aktau is the second mission for the Iranian flotilla after the first one which took place some two years ago. A Kazakh flotilla made a reciprocal journey to Iranian port, Anzali, in October 2017.

Iran has been expanding its presence in different waters. The country’s navy carries out recurrent military maneuvers and maritime security missions in the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean, the Gulf of Aden, and the Suez Canal, with an aim to contribute to international maritime security and reinforce the country’s diplomacy. 101/202
