Weapon and ammunition placed in a transportation truck

The acting district chief and intelligence director in the Baraki Barak district of Logar province were killed in the roadside bomb blast.

Iran pressEurope: Baraki Barak District’s administrative chief Ainuddin Amin and local National Defense Security head Aziz Rahman were killed when their vehicle struck with a roadside bomb in Sherwaza area of Pul-i-Alam City. The officials were heading to office on Saturday evening, Police spokesman Shapoor Ahmadzai said according to different Afghan news outlets.

Police confirmed that roadside bomb had been planted by Taliban insurgents. Also, Shamshad Larawy, the governor’s spokesman, confirmed the blast and death of local officials.

Taliban group claimed responsibility for the blast. Zabihullah Mujahid, the group’s spokesman, claimed that district chief, intelligence director and several bodyguards were killed in the bombing.

In another major security incident in the past 24 hours, at least 110 insurgents including 73 Taliban militants and 37 Daesh Takfiri terrorists were killed and 37 others wounded in nationwide military crackdowns, according to a press release issued by Afghanistan Ministry of Defense.

Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS)personnel  has conducted joint operations against insurgents across country. Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artillery and air forces.

in past 24 hours, 12 planed clearing operations, and 102 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces. Air forces conducted 96 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 11 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

Many weapons and ammunition confiscated in the operations as well.

Meanwhile the Afghan security forces seized dozens of weapons and thousands rounds of ammunition during an operation in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
