Tehran (IP)-The Iranian Navy Commander has announced that the Damavand-2 destroyer will soon be equipped with a hypersonic missile, further enhancing Iran's naval fleet.

Iran PressIran news: The Damavand destroyer, an all-Iranian vessel, belongs to the advanced Moudge-class and is an upgraded version of the Jamaran destroyer.The construction of the Damavand destroyer was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Ministry of Defense scientists, armed forces, the Iran Navy, and knowledge-based companies. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, it has been successfully integrated into the operational combat unit of the Iran Navy.

Notable features of the Damavand destroyer include new radar and missile systems, thrust systems, and advanced weaponry.

Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Iranian Navy, emphasized that the equipment installed on the Damavand-2 destroyer represents cutting-edge technology in detection, identification, monitoring (DIM), and combat capabilities.

He further stated that the modern equipment can be utilized across all destroyers.

In addition to defensive capabilities, the Damavand-2 destroyer will also be equipped with offensive missiles. This development underscores Iran's commitment to bolstering its naval power and ensuring its readiness for any potential threats.
