Tehran(IP)- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel was welcomed by Bahram Einollahi, Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education and Chairman of the Joint Commission on Cooperation between Iran and Cuba, upon his arrival in Tehran on Sunday night.

Iran PressIran news: The Cuban president, who traveled to Tehran at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, is scheduled to be officially welcomed by Ebrahim Raisi, the president of the Republic of Iran, at the historical cultural complex of Saa'd Abad on Monday morning.

After the official welcoming ceremony and the introduction of accompanying delegations, a private meeting between the heads of the two countries, a joint meeting of high-ranking delegations and the signing ceremony of cooperation documents and memorandums will be held, and then the two presidents will explain the results and achievements of the bilateral consultations in a joint press conference.

During the trip, in addition to the official meeting with President Raisi, Miguel Diaz-Canel will also have meetings with some high-ranking officials of Iran, and will wisit the exhibition of capabilities and the latest technological achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the Pasteur Institute, which cooperates with Cuba in the medical and pharmaceutical fields.

After the visit of the late Cuban President Fidel Castro in June 2001, this is the first visit of the president of the country to Iran.
