Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs:

Tehran (IP) - Pointing out the cruel sanctions of the United States and the European Union, which have targeted the people of Iran's culture, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs said that these sanctions must be lifted.

Why it matters:

The sanctions imposed by the U.S. and Europe against Iran have so far affected various aspects of the lives of the Iranian people and led to the violation of their rights.

What he is saying:

Majid Takht Ravanchi wrote on the X social network, "The cruel sanctions of the United States and the European Union that target people with Iranian culture must be lifted."

Referring to a meeting titled "The history of cultural and diplomatic relations between Iran and Austria" held at Tehran University on Tuesday, Takht Ravanchi wrote: "One of the important aspects of Iranian-Austrian relations is their cultural cooperation, which can serve as a bridge between the peoples of the two countries."

Key points:

  • Over the past four decades, the United States has implemented the most unilateral policies and actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran in various forms, such as imposing the most extensive sanctions, military threats, launching political and diplomatic campaigns, and psychological warfare.
  • Despite the failure of the United States' unilateral policies and actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Washington continues to insist on continuing this illegal approach against Tehran, contrary to the United Nations Charter.
