Iran Press/ America: The official number of people in the United States killed by COVID-19 has reached 52,127 according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. The US death and confirmed cases totals are far higher than any other country's.
In total, the US has more than three times as many confirmed cases of the virus than any other country. European countries such as Spain, Italy, France, Germany and the United Kingdom have also been hit hard by the pandemic. Nearly all of those countries have experienced a higher number of deaths per capita than the U.S., according to the data from Johns Hopkins.
More than 190,000 people have died from the coronavirus globally, and case totals have reached over 2.7 million, as of Friday 24 April.
