Head of Iran judiciary becomes deputy chairman of Assembly of Experts

Iran's new judiciary chief has been chosen as the deputy chairman of Assembly of Experts.

Iran press/Iran: Iran's new judiciary chief Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, has been elected deputy chairman of the Assembly of Experts, after members of the Assembly elected him in an open ballot on Tuesday. 

The 6th session of Iran's Assembly of Experts was held on Tuesday morning chaired by Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, with a majority of members attending the event.

According to the Iran Press report, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's statement on the second phase of the Islamic Revolution was discussed in Tuesday's session.

Another topic of discussion in Tuesday's meeting was the administration of the Assembly of Experts as well as the related electoral procedures of members of the Assembly.

Speaking at the event, Ayatollah Jannati stressed that the nation should appreciate 40 years of Islamic Revolution, in spite all the hostilities and plots of the enemies, this 'Divine Revolution' has gone from strength to strength.

The chairman of the Assembly of Experts, Ayatollah Jannati added that Victory belongs to Islam and the Islamic Revolution, and defeat awaits the enemies.

Jannati also urged more assistance to the people, because they have never left the Revolution alone and they have always resisted against the enemies and finally defeated them. 

It is noteworthy that the Assembly of Experts session will continue tomorrow, and wrap up with a visit to the Mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini (the Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran), followed by a meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. 104/203/211
