Iranian parliament (Majlis) has approved an amendment to existing legislation which will make parliamentary elections from now on provincial rather than national.

Iran Press/ Iran news: In an open session of the Majlis on Tuesday attended by 226 MPs, parliamentarians approved amendments to existing legislation which will make parliamentary elections from now on provincial rather than national.

Parliamentarians also reviewed a report by a special commission to support national manufacture and production, and oversee implementation of article 44 of Iran's constitution. 

Iranian MPs considered amendments to existing legislation to make maximum use of Iranian-manufactured products and services within the country. They also considered amendments to boost exports and modify article 104 of direct taxation law.

Also on Tuesday, Shahab Naderi, an MP representing Paveh and Javanrud in Western Iran, and Somayeh Mahmoudi, an MP representing Shahreza in Central Iran, questioned the minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Abbas Salehi, who is attending today's open session of the Majlis.
