At least 14 killed after Boko Haram terrorists ambushed a military convoy in northeastern Nigeria.

Iran Press/ Africa: Nigerian army said that Boko Haram terrorists ambushed a military convoy in northeast of the country on Wednesday, killing 13 soldiers and a policeman.

But an officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the militants had overrun an army base, and put the death toll at 18, AFP reported.

Other security sources said fighters travelling in eight trucks fitted with anti-aircraft guns had overrun the base.

Boko Haram has attacked at least 20 military bases in recent weeks, killing dozens of soldiers and carting away weapons.

Boko Haram's nine-year rebellion has killed at least 27,000 and forced more than two million people to flee their homes. 105/207
