Tehran mayor said on Monday that knowledge is needed to be added to smartness in order to lead the power in today's world.

Iran news/ In an interview with Iran Press News Agency, Tehran's Mayor, Pirouz Hanachi, said that the first step to have a smart city is to adhere to "knowledge and capability".

Iran's urban official went on to refer to Iran's literature to mention knowledge is the power.

He also said that today we should say that" knowledge plus being smart is power".

Hanachi added that Iranian society should pave the ground to be smart and this invites us to work decisively and in an organized manner.

Referring to the old habit of information storage in which all of the documents would be kept in the rooms and in the chest of drawers in Iran, Tehran Mayor further explained that all of the information should be turned to common data first and then at the next step, we use all of this data to interpret and foresee the future and to have planning for it.

On the same day, Iran's minister of Information and Communications Technology, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, said in an interview with Iran Press international news agency that smart city project will lead to valuable urban achievements.

Iran top officials words and comments came as the 2nd Smart Tehran Congress started in Milad Tower Conference Hall in the Iranian capital on Monday.

Smart city road map, participation patterns, ecosystem innovation in smart city, intelligent governance and digital development, intelligent sustainability and viability are among topics expected to be discussed in the event, Iran press reported.

The 2nd Smart Tehran Congress 2018 will be wrapped up on December 11.
