Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani announced Tehran's determination to deepen ties with Turkey in the meeting with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Binali Y?ld?r?m on Saturday in Tehran.

Iran Press /Iran news: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani appreciated Turkey for standing against US sanctions and said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to deepen ties with Turkey in all fields of mutual interest."

“Iran appreciates the efforts of the Turkish President and government for development of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he continued.

Rouhani added: “Iran welcomes faster implementation of agreements between the two countries in different fields, such as energy and banking relations.”

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani referred to the 2nd conference of parliament speakers and said: “Iran considers Turkey’s security and stability as its own security and stability and therefore, took clear stances over the coup in Turkey.”

Rouhani continued: “In their latest meeting, Iran, Turkey and Russia decided to discuss economic cooperation in addition to security issues of the region.”

Iran and Turkey have long been facing the scourge of terrorism and whenever they have boosted cooperation in fighting terrorism, their achievements have increased,” he added.

Iranian President also said, “The issue of terrorism has always been important for Turkey and is the common enemy of countries like Iran and Turkey and cooperation in fighting terrorism.”

“Turkey will continue its relations with Iran in any conditions and the US sanctions against Iran is not fruitful,” Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Binali Y?ld?r?m said in the meeting with Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the "Second Conference of Parliament Speakers’" in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew Washington from the nuclear agreement in May and reintroduced sanctions on Iran in August.

The US withdrawal from JCPOA and reimposing sanctions was met with worldwide criticism, particularly by Turkey as Iran's neighbour.
