Afghanistan's defense ministry announced that 57 Taliban members were killed in 30 operations by government forces over the past two days.

Asia: According to the ministry's statement, at least 14 were killed and 13 others injured in government force's operations in 14 provinces, Iran Press News Agency reported.

"Most of the casualties were in Ghazni (19 killed), Helmand (12 killed) and Nangarhar (6 killed)", the statement added.

Afghanistan's foreign ministry also announced that the Afghan security forces seized dozens of weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition during the operations.

The operations were carried out after briefing the senators during the session of Afghanistan’s Meshrano Jirga (upper house of parliament), and Afghanistan's defense minister "Tariq shah Bahrami" stated that the level of threats was very high against the country and this was hindering the work of Afghan security forces.

During the session, senator "Abidellah Bakzai" also said that American forces have repeatedly targeted Afghan civilians, and destroyed their houses, then claimed that this was necessary since that particular house was used by the Taliban.
