The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Division, announced that some 77 terrorist operations have been foiled in western and northwestern borders of the country during the current Iranian year (started on March 21).

Iran Press/ Iran: Addressing a gathering of military commanders in Falavarjan County in central Isfahan province on Tuesday, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh noted that despite the conspiracy of enemies to spread violence in the country, the security guards in western and northwestern Iran have foiled 77 terrorist operations in the past eight months, Mehr News Agency reported.

Noting that during the past forty years, the enemies have adopted different strategies to hurt the Iranian nation, General Hajizadeh said our nation is defeating them in all fronts - like it has always done.

“The efforts and financial assistance by Saudis, Emiratis and Israelis to compromise Iran’s security have not come to fruition,” he said, stressing that this is a wish that will never come true."

Saying that Iran’s power in the region has forced the enemies to turn to other forms of war, including psychological war and soft power, General Hajizadeh called for paying special attention to such plots.

He said that today, the enemy is trying to put the Iranian nation under pressure by initiating an economic war through psychological tools and spreading lies, rumors and scandals, however, he added, our people have proved them wrong in the past forty years.

Over the past years, Iranian security forces and border guards have engaged in clashes with terror groups, many of whom cross the country's borders with Pakistan and Iraq to carry out attacks inside the country.
