Tehran (IP) - The closing ceremony of the 52nd Roshd International Film Festival was held in Tehran with the presence of the Minister of Culture at Cinema Palestine.

Iran PressIran News: Known as the oldest festival in West Asia and one of the oldest in Asia, the 52nd edition of the Roshd International Film Festival kicked off on Tuesday, Nov.29, 2022.

The festival seeks the main objectives of identifying and selecting the best educational and pedagogical films in order to introduce them to the educational systems.

As the key guest of the ceremony, the Head of Iran's Educational Research and Planning Organization, Ali Latifi, said that the Roshd film festival must focus on the diversification of films for educational purposes.  

Roshd Film Festival does not just screen a series of films but engages students with the film such that students put themselves in the place of the characters of the film and act, he said.

Student filmmakers, teacher filmmakers, and international scopes are the three main sections of the festival, with 2,473 foreign and 987 domestic works being sent to the secretariat of the festival.

104 films were chosen from over 3,460 submissions.

Iran's Roshd International Film Festival is dedicated to films with educational and pedagogical themes and is organized every year by the Supplying Educational Media Center, a sub-branch of the Ministry of Education of Iran.
