Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Foreign Ministry has summoned Sweden’s chargé d’affaires to protest an attack on the Iranian Embassy in Stockholm.

Iran PressIran news: Director General of Protocol of the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swedish diplomat on Friday in the absence of the ambassador to convey the Islamic Republic’s strong protest with regard to the Swedish police’s failure to take the fully required security measures in accordance with the Vienna Convention.

While expressing his regret, the Chargé d'Affaires said that he would convey the situation to the government of this country.

Iran's Foreign Ministry also expressed its protest to Belgium on Friday over a similar attack on the Islamic Republic's Embassy in Brussels.

The Iranian ministry said Belgium is definitely responsible for ensuring the security of foreign diplomatic missions based on the Vienna Convention. Iran's Embassy in Brussels also condemned the attack.

A group of people in Iran and some other countries instigated protests under the pretext of the death of a Mahsa Amini in Tehran, where seditionists among the people committed desecrations.

Mahsa Amini, a 22 years Iranian girl, fainted at the police department in Tehran on Tuesday after being taken there for violation of dress codes along with some other women.
