The iconic Baby Trump balloon loomed over a San Diego park on Tuesday as activists demonstrated against a measure sending over 5,200 troops to the US-Mexico border.

Iran PressAmerica: The balloon, featuring a caricature of US President Donald Trump in a diaper, was placed on an inflatable intercontinental ballistic missile in the urban cultural space, Balboa Park.

The Baby Trump protest was part of satirical military parade organized by the San Diego chapter of the Backbone Campaign, Los Angles Times reported.

Protesters were scattered around the balloon, posing for pictures, holding signs and playing instruments.

"Our Baby Trump balloons are being sent all around the country intended to draw attention to the childlike person occupying the Oval Office," said Jim Girvan the organizer of the Baby Trump Tour.

The military parade and Baby Trump demo were aimed at protesting a range of issues, including the larger-than-expected deployment of troops to the border as a caravan of Central American migrants approaches.

There are currently six replica balloons touring the country, which are modeled after the balloon that appeared in London during President Trump's visit to that country.

The balloon has appeared in Lower Manhattan, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Chicago, Florida and Michigan.

The Pentagon is sending over 5,200 troops to the border with Mexico as thousands of Central American migrants walk towards the US in a caravan.

The massing of American troops comes as the caravan, which has shrunk from 7,000 people to less than 3,500, is still weeks away from reaching the United States.101/202
